Well actually it was three things ;)

I can't seem to reproduce these bugs in my latest build, you may want to wait 
for an updated set of debs.  In general, it's better to wait for at least one 
package update before you go reporting anything odd to the lists or the the 
bug tracker.  That, or you can contact me to discuss the issues, (er I'm the 
maintainer of the packages if you hadn't gathered that) ... Sometimes a build 
can just be caught at an inoppurtune time.

There usually are upgrade scripts made for these kinds of things, but those 
are sometimes not released until all development is finalized, usually 
between major (and sometimes minor) releases.  You'll find you will be mv'ing 
the occasional config every now and then when running CVS.
