I didn't say the user wants to manipulate the data, I just said the user needs 
to insert the cd so the game can access the data on it...

I prefer solution 1. On normal installs there is an icon on the desktop for 
every removable-media where everyone can mount/unmount/eject with one (/two) 
clicks.
