I haven't tried emerging the latest KDE yet (because I'm already running CVS 
now :D), but perhaps you might want to try http://forums.gentoo.org/ for 
help?  If there's no help forthcoming from there, then you may want to also 
post a bug on Gentoo's Bugzilla (http://bugs.gentoo.org/) since the compile 
should work fine.  There's probably a problem in the ebuild, perhaps with the 
dependencies.
