Actually, the ideal BitTorrent application for KDE would have to be its
own download manager; it just wouldn't integrate very well with
multiprotocol download managers, and it would need a lot of specialised
controls in order to sensibly handle multiple concurrent torrent
downloads at optimal speeds. I think a standalone BitTorrent application
that is simply fed torrent files through the standard mime type
mechanism would make the most sense. A KIOslave, particularly, doesn't
make much sense at all, as you don't usually deal with BitTorrent files
in the kind of protocol-centric way a KIOslave is meant to interface.

I've also been thinking for a while about writing a Qt/KDE based
BitTorrent backend for implementing an application like this. I don't
really feel comfortable with the idea of trying to interface with Python
code in an application as complex as this would have to be.

I guess what I'm saying is that I'd really like to write something like
this, and wonder about what sorts of ideas people have about what the
ideal BitTorrent application would be like.
