another question, is BRANCH considered stable, read, are there only 
Bugfixes? Or is there a chance that it's broken on occasion? In the 
later case I'll better install it in a separate directory (separate 
from RELEASE, that is). And, yes, I know I'll need to do "make -f 
admin/Makefile.common cvs-clean" then to wipe out any references to the 
old directory.
