That's a perfect attitude for kdenonbeta, but for kdenetwork inclusion, it's 
best not to include anything which is not maintained. Not maintained is 
basically the same as not supported (e.g. bugreports will be closed or 
ignored).. you're either willing to support user wishes for a component, or 
not.

For the HTML bug I've had in TOC, I was told to use OSCAR and that TOC is 
indeed not ment to be maintained, by one of the developers on #kopete. To me, 
that means it is not supported anymore.

IIRC, that fork announcement was mostly due to Charles repeatedly disabling 
one of Neil's (perfectly functioning) plugins, Hayes, and severly different 
views on how extensible playlist plugins are. 

But cc:ing him anyway, it could be an option if otherwise it means TOC will be 
unmaintained.
