The 'kde' mailing list is probably best for how to's if you're not sure but 
for any feature requests as such they should be logged as wishlist items at 
http://bugs.kde.org

Not sure about this one, couldn't find a way to map mouse buttons it's 
available for keyboard shortcuts though although I don't think it is mapped 
by default. This might be a candidate for a wishlist item.

Doesn't the RMB context menu give you the Open in Background Tab option or do 
you want clicking on a link to automatically open it in a background tab? The 
latter I think would also be a wishlist item but the former already exists.
