Well, I actually experienced it :). Compiling KDE with object prelinking makes 
it crash...it won't even start kbuildsycoca anymore, let alone the rest of 
KDE. Compiling without objprelink works just fine.
It's said to give different results depending on the binutils installed (I'm 
using Debian Sid), so maybe if one compiles that with objprelink too (or runs 
objprelink on it after compiling) it works...
