I mentioned Ada in a sidebranch of this thread. Porting kdelibs to Ada
depends on a few other projects, as well as at least a handful of
participants. The other projects are:

* GNAT (the compiler); I have heard that it will be integrated in the GNU
Compiler Collection from version 3.1. When that has matured and reached the
distributions, we can expect users to be able to compile Ada code, like we
now can expect them to be able to compile C and C++ code. (www.gnat.com)

* XMLAda (XML library); Seems to be making steady progress.

* Adadoc (documentation generation); In a very early stage. Source code
commented in french. Seems to get some interest and attention.

* QtAda; The poor developer has been alone with this piece for 1.5 years now.
He has apparently given up because of lack of interest from others. Maybe
he would get motivated again if he got some help. This project is the big
  bottleneck. (http://sourceforge.net/projects/qtada)

Sorry, I don't know Ruby. I would be more productive and motivated if I could
write KDE programs in Ada instead of C++.
