Thanks! Yes, my libs in $QTDIR/plugins/imageformats were older than my libs in 
$QTDIR/libs - so I build these libs manually and "make install" put them in 
/usr/local/qt/... but my QTDIR is /usr/lib/qt3.

Now it works again!
