It would be a shame if Konqueror would be blocked by sites because it
integrates an ad blocker.

A proxy server doesn't have to make it a lot more difficult for a user
to block a site.

How about adding a tab to the 'Proxies & Cache' configuration named
'Content filtering'? On this tab a combo box would allow a user to
select a 'content filtering' plugin.

All proxy servers would install a .desktop file into
$KDEDIR/share/apps/kio_http/proxy/ that would describe the proxy,
including the DCOP name the app has. Using DCOP konqueror could
for example lookup the port of the proxy or add a blocked site.

The proxy itself would use the KDE Proxy setting and Konqueror would
silently use this proxy. The proxy server can put an icon into the
systray.

This way existing add blockers could be adapted to work with
Konqueror, instead of reinventing the wheel.

This could also be used for writing content filtering stuff, for parent
who are concerned that their children will see 'wrong' things while
surfing.

Regards,
