Hi All

I've seen a couple of comments that say the prizes aren't worth the
commercial value to Sharp and Trolltech of the applications. That is of
course true. The monetary value of the prizes is quite small.

There is, however, one other prize which IMHO is worthy of consideration.
Provided, Sharp uses your likeness and gives you proper credit in the
promotion of their product line and the applications, this is great for any
developer. It's fantastic for someone's resume. In particular, a student with
little or no work experience can certainly gain an advantage by being to add
this as an accomplishment. When applying for jobs, your name is already known
to employers and something of your abilities is public knowledge.

So, yes, getting a Sharp PDA widget or perhaps 10 Kilobucks is insignifcant
compared to the dollar value to Sharp. The value of winning can be of great
value to your career if you make proper use of it. Remember there will be
lots of people in the competition and the winners will be the best at least
in the estimation of the judges.

John
