You are advocating forking Red-carpet and adding support
for KDE? And you would like this fork to be recognized as
the "official" KDE installer?
Well if someone wants to fork Red-carpet I guess they can,
(they might be in for some grief if Red-carpet is actively
maintained). If that fork becomes the best program for
installing/upgrading KDE then I think the users will
realize that, and that the program will be recognized as a
de facto standard.
I think it would be better to wait until the program proves
itself by virtue of its own merit before gifting it with
the formal recognition of being the "official" KDE
installer.
I think this makes sense for any application program, and
especially makes sense in the case of an installer which is
arguable a program better implemented by individual
distributors rather than a KDE project.
