It's not ridiculous. A user accustomed to having her nice Laptop
style with the X button on the Left side, or accustomed to the compact
BII titlebars, suddenly loses this style and has to learn a completely
new way of working. Now *that's* ridiculous. Ask anyone using
anything other than the default styles in KDE, and who has updated to
CVS, if they aren't mighty peeved by now. Put yourself in your users
shoes. Might as well switch to GNOME, eh?

You already broke at least one app in CVS with your changes. It's not
a stable or released app, but it's an example. Are you willing to
audit all KDE 2.x apps (including any tools that customize KDE, and
the such) to find out what else will be broken? I really don't get
the point.

If maintenance in CVS is the problem, then I offer my help. I've been
wanting to get more involved anyway. Even if only it means making
sure that the styles in CVS are stable and/or in sync with the
versions on your homepage depending on the situation, I'm willing to
do it.
