I'm about to commit my code for asynchronous lookup and connect and
buffering I/O in KExtendedSocket. I've been working on it for several
weeks now and I'd like to see it in 2.2. Mainly because it simply can't
go in 2.3 if 2.2 is released as it is -- there are a lot of binary
incompatible changes with the two alphas. (read: if I don't commit it
now, all work will be lost)

I've had the chance, however, to test most of it. And, thankfully, I've
managed to clear most of the bugs out of the buffering code, which is
the most important part.

So, following Waldo's suggestion, this is going into the CVS now. It
shouldn't break any current code (read: if it does, tell me :P), but
you'll have to recompile.
