Wouldn't it be a good idea to add a "Applications" dir to the 
kcontrolcenter's treelist ? Perhaps that would be a good place for such stuff 
(and the konqueror kcmodules, which I never find ;). It would give program 
authors of external apps to the possibiliy to enhance the kcontrol center 
with there appconfigpage without making it unsorted+bloated (and the apps 
should have the settings page in their menu like konqui , too).
