As mentioned previously on this list,  

java version "1.3.0_02"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.3.0_02)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.3.0_02, mixed mode)

has severe problems, placeing and resizing window under KDE 2.x (setLocation, 
setSize).

I tried to track it down, but without the jdk source code, I practically 
failed. All I see is the requests, the jvm does to the window manager, and 
those look very very weird.

java version "1.2.2"
Classic VM (build Linux_JDK_1.2.2_RC4, native threads, sunwjit)

works fine, same (apparently) with the ibm jvm.

Does anybody have the current java sources and would like to help tracking 
this problem down?
