I was browsing around and ran across this and thought it might be an 
interesting path to pursue, these guys are located less than 10 miles from 
me as it happens.  This application takes advantage of the extra display 
ability of laptops to really enhance the look of text and other things.  If 
you have a laptop and Windows, go to this link and look for the following 
text part way down and try running the program.

Perhaps Steve can be convinced to port this to Linux.  Can you imagine 
having this in KDE and showing someone Windows side by side with KDE on a 
laptop and having this vastly superior display.  With all the alpha channel 
stuff that just came out, this seemed like a really cool addition.  Check 
it out and see what you think.
