From a translator point of view it's really a showstopper because you have to
search very hard something (a bad translation) that fits in the labels while you
have a much better one (which doesn't match the according size).

From a user point of view you just get apps with non intuitive dialogs.

All these issues are coming from apps that have just been ported to KDE 2. It
was already a pain to translate them with KDE 1.x and it's not easier now...
Unfortunately there are still lot of them.
