Could you apply the patch I mailed in the beginning of this thread to
kiconloader.cpp in kdelibs/kdecore. Then use kstartperf to measure
konqy's startup time: "kstartperf konqueror |grep kstartperf".

Then compare this with the startup time using the unpatched iconloader.
