Yes, you did.  And if you look a little more closely, you'll see that
this menubar is for kdesktop -- it's a "system menubar", if you will.
This is totally separate from the "mac menubar" mode (currently
disabled anyway) which deals with individual apps.

You can turn it off with Look n Feel=>Desktop=>Desktop
