It seems the method KTMainWindow::setView(QWidget *) lacks a call to 
updateRects() at its end. I ask because KTMainWindow/KTMLayout looks like 
a big hack to me (no offence meant to the authors :) and I don't want to 
break this (fragile) code ...

and when using a main widget with a layout in Fixed resize mode, I need 
to call "updateRects() + adjustSize()" after hiding the menu to get the
correct size ...
