I think this is a byteordering issue with Qt that has been mentioned
before.  Have you tried the Qt-native PNG library?

Re jpeg support, I think this might be a QRegExp problem.  Have you tried
using the imagemagick bit instead of the dedicated jpeg kimgio bit?
