I did this a looong time ago and called it kjournal. Remember ? I deleted
the patches I made yesterday, proving the law that whatever you throw away
will be needed the next day.

I did it by adding a simple function in kdelibs, something like
KJournal::add(KURL filename);

This takes care of the case where you DnD-open a file, etc. You have to
look in every app for where it has actually opened a file (from the user's
perspective, so a document really) and add the call immediately after.

Nice to see someone is finally interested in doing it :)
