Note that we're not talking about dropping CORBA completely! We are only
talking about the graphical embedding, and as long as the (current) local
embedding is too slow to be useable I won't even *think* about remote
embedding..

The idea of components remains, and applications will still export their
functionality via CORBA interfaces.
