That's why the file name as id is the way to go. All other
solutions (Label and AppId in the .desktop file) are incompatible
with existing .desktop files.

Note: As long as these files had a suffix .kdelnk there was
some freedom to change semantics. Now the decision to rename
them to .desktop has been made, and people are expecting them
to behave like .desktop files.
