All other solutions (Label and AppId in the .desktop file) are incompatible with existing .desktop files. Note: As long as these files had a suffix .kdelnk there was some freedom to change semantics. Now the decision to rename them to .desktop has been made, and people are expecting them to behave like .desktop files. Bernd.
