yes. i actually had a patch on one of my systems a year or two ago that cached 
entries from these files based on mimetype, so there was a tree (to make it 
easy to support globs like image/*) of mimetypes in memory which was 
populated on the first konqpopupmenu creation. i forget why i never committed 
it.. hrm... in any case, IIRC this did result in more snappy menus =)
