Hi,
I have a mainly usability issue with Konqueror: Open Location and I think
all the other browsers. I think the dialog shown when you select the Open
Location is not needed at all and it's redundant. In Konqueror you can open a
location by entering the location in the Location bar (so the lineedit in the
dialog is duplicating this functionality), and if you click on the select
file button, it will bring you up the standard file open dialog. Why can't
the Open Location menu bring up directly the file open dialog? It will save
you one click and a mouse move without losing any functionality. Just because
other browsers have the same way implemented, I don't think Konqui should
follow them. In Mozilla I see a separate menu for opening files, but it's
also an overkill. In KDE Open File is the same as Open Location, due to the
various kioslaves.
What do you think about dropping the "Open Location" dialog?
Andras
