Perfect timing! I just unearthed a CD of mp3s... suffice to say that with
your patch applied mpg123+artscat work just fine.  However everytime I
update arts I end up having to recompile everything from kdemultimedia.  
Had to rip out the artsmidi references in $KDEDIR to get artsd to start
(too lazy to recompile).  Grr.

Now if I could only figure out why the taskbar is acting up...  I'd be
outta bugs for now.
