Care to have a look at the attached screenshot? The leftmost text is 
from qt-copy's qt-assistant showing part of qt-linguist's manual. But 
it could've well been cut from a screenshot of KMail's composer which 
also uses the same spacing.
The middle one is from current KMail's reader.
The rightmost one is from KMail in 2.x. Sorry that it's smaller text 
(it's from a display with less dpi).

You can clearly see that the middle one looks butt ugly compared to both 
the outer ones. It's hardly readable. It has almost the same line 
spacing as the right one, but the right one is a smaller font size :-o

Maybe khtml contains a workaround for the too large linespacing with 
prior Qt versions and that hasn't been removed yet?
