Yikes.  Those would be total crap.  There somewhen existed such C
compilers, but besides the actual first implementation of that language
(or a predecessor of it) on PDP-11, I've never seen those, although I
don't remember if Turbo C once had such limits.  The actual ISO C++
recommendation is 1024 significant characters minimum.
