Why ? What is the main concern ? that KDE edits a config file that is 
outside of KStandardDirs ? or that Qt places its config file not in a 
KStandardDirs ?

But it wouldn't work then for Qt applications.

well, what do you suggest ? Qt duplicating KStandardDirs in qtconfig to be 
able to customize KDE's style settings ? Thats not going to happen I guess.
