please do not do that (rm -rf and cvs co). Sourceforge _donated_ us the CVS 
server, we don't have to havoc the resources we get for free. use 
"cvs-clean" and "cvs up -A" instead. 

I think Simon committed a sane-configure patch yesterday. is your build up 
to date enough to catch it ?

did it work before Simon's commit ?
