The last days I worked a lot on KView - because it's not working as it should 
(in KDE 2.2.2 already) and even worse under KDE 3.
While I was on it I was thinking about the KImageViewer interface and that 
some people had wished there would be something like that. Now, actually I 
don't have a lot of knowledge how do that, but I took a shot at it, created 
an interface for the ImageCanvas and one for the viewer (the last one 
actually is nothing more that a ReadWritePart with a method to get access to 
the ImageCanvas).
I implemented the canvas and the viewer using the old KView sources but mainly 
writing it new. The outcome is faster and allready pretty usable. I think I 
can get it ready for KDE3, but I don't know if that's the right thing to do.

My questions:
1. Should I commit to HEAD or create a new branch for the new KView?
2. What about the KImageViewer interface? I don't want to make it official now 
(I'd put it in kdegraphics/kview/kimageviewer). Perhaps mark it as 
experimental with no guarantee for BC.
