Hmm... What's the point of having lots of eye-candy (which KDE seems to 
be getting more and
more of), if it starts cluttering up the screen
with ugly hacks? And surely GUIs should also be
attractive - else wht have themes?

I can agree with all of this - but it still looks
horrible. I also dislike the tear-off menu stuff,
again this just looks nasty - I hated it when I
saw it on Gtk apps, and thought "thank god KDE
doesn't do that"... I still can't think of a
signel good reason for tear of menus - they take
up screen and kicker space...

Still, I'd like options to remove this. But I can
also see KDE getting *way* to many options for
stuff like this...

Sorry I'm using a web-based email client - so I
can't configure this...
