Removing -lkfile from konsole saved approx. 0.5 seconds here.

To me this sounds more like a design problem with the structure of the libs.
Don't know if this is stupid, but wouldn't it be possible to have a small lib 
which is dlopened() which provides the message boxes and passowrd dialogs 
etc. ? And this one would be linked against kdeui, but kdecore or kio which 
would dlopen it wouldn't have to be linked against kdeui
