new options for tools:  alpha blend and tolerance for fill tool, new 
dialogs for tool options, small fixes to scaling for thumbnails, improvements
to stamp tool, pen tool differs from brush tool now (no blend), rearrangement
of toolbars and menus for more consistent look and feel, small brush and
pattern data file edits (better looking patterns and brushes), mask auto-
generated for mouse pointer base on shape of brush image for brushes within
the right size range for a mouse pointer (4 < size < 33).  4 different
selection modes now - only rectangular select fully implemented so far.
