Please, both of you, calm down. This is not the proper way to behave.
1) We don't go reverting stuff unilaterally, even if that has happened before. 
Let's not fall in the you-did-therefore-I-do path, is just poisonous.
2)This is FOSS, there's no "my application, my rules," by being part of the 
FOSS community you're giving your implied permission to modify the code you 
commit, that's, by definition, how FOSS work.
As a corollary of both points, If the community is not satisfied with some 
approach, discussion should be arose, we don't go trashing other's people work 
or dismissing other's people concerns and objections based on "my application, 
my way" behavior.
