while doing this fix, i was reminded of the bruhaha a couple months ago over 
changing the KDE crash dialog to not show on log out. a few people were 
belly-aching about how difficult it is to debug session management related 
bugs (e.g. in kmail) due to having to log in and out and all the time that 
takes... to which i would suggest using xsm which allows easy session 
management within an X11 session (including checkpointing, saving and 
restoring of sessions)... w/out xsm this fix would've been annoying enough 
not to even contemplate doing... just thought i'd share =)
