This looks very suspicious to me. My bet is that you have a hardware 
problem, or a bug in your vmware setup.

Once I had apps crashing randomly. It was because my vmware modules were 
compiled for a different kernel. 

As vmware and kdesud have no interaction whatsoever, it seems very unlikely 
this is a kdesu bug.
