The same here with a fresh installed Kubuntu 14.04. multiple instances of
"kclock.kss" in memory. The screensaver does'nt work - intead a blank
wallpaper-screen apears.

Its frustrating. After years and multiple OS versions still the same mess.
(shakes head ...)
