FWIW, there was a discussion on IRC about this kicked off by Jonathan Riddell
from Kubuntu/Canonical, and I wrote an email to the Deutsches Spielkartenmuseum
http://www.spielkartenmuseum.de/) asking them for an expert opinion. Basically
I sent them the German handbook entry covering the rules for "Zigeuner" and
asked them if they know of any politically less charged name for the variant.
