Summary: KNetworkmanager should connect to default WLAN on
                    session start without KWallet
           Product: knetworkmanager
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: openSUSE RPMs
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: wstephenson@kde.org
        ReportedBy: bastisemail@yahoo.de

Version: (using KDE 4.4.0)
OS: Linux
Installed from: openSUSE RPMs

I do understand the security issues with this, but there should be at least the
'option'. Here's my situation:

I always use the same wireless home network. I configured it using
KNetworkmanager to connect automatically. And indeed, after login and starting
knetworkmanager it opens KWallet and asks for the password to get access to the
connection data.

The problem: Until then, all web browsers and NFS services have already been
restored by the KDE session manager. KNetworkmanager will be startet at the end
of the session start and then, it will take a while to open KWallet. Afterwards
I must reload all open webpages, nfs sessions, ftp sessions etc. manually.

It would be cool if Networkmanager could at least access its own wallet in a
"crypted mode", i.e. it does not ask me for the password to open the wallet,
but starts and connects autoamtically to the standard WLAN network. Only when I
open the configuration of that connection, I want to be asked for the wallet
password. Furthermore, Networkmanager should be startet BEFORE all other apps
by the KDE session manager. There must be a way that ensures that the
connection is active before all other web services will be (re)started.

Thanks
