Summary: Add support for device synching with any IO slave
           Product: amarok
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Ubuntu Packages
        OS/Version: unspecified
            Status: NEW
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: amarok-bugs-dist@kde.org
        ReportedBy: jason@keirstead.org

Version: (using KDE 4.2.0)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

Amarok right now seems to expect a "Generic Audio Player" to be a locally
mounted filesystem always. Because of this, it is not possible to use
otherwise-working devices in KDE with Amarok. For example, my Windows Mobile
based phone - I can sync the calender, browse files in dolphin, do pretty much
everything, *except* sync the music in Amarok - because Amarok does not support
using an IO Slave as the file path in the "Generic Audio Player" config.

To be clear - my music is stored via the URL "rapip:/Storage Card/Music". But
Amarok does not accept this as a sync path.

As well, this would let you sync with a remote FTP server, or a remote samba
directory, or any number of other great things.
