It's just not quite the same as it is on Linux/BSD... I'll break down the problems \
here:
1. The following batch file produces mixed results - only random files make it to the \
application. Sometimes it works, but more often, it doesn't (if you put big sleeps \
between each line which starts Kate, it works more often):
REM test_162743.bat
echo off
echo > text1.txt
echo > text2.txt
echo > text3.txt
set PATH=C:\Program Files\KDE\bin;%PATH%
start kate text1.txt
start kate -u text2.txt
start kate -u text3.txt
2. Opening a file with Kate (with no command line arguments) doesn't automatically \
try to use an existing instance of Kate.
3. Using -u on its own will not open a new instance of Kate like it does on linux - \
it will *only* work if an instance of the application is already running.
