No. KDE_IS_PRELINKED is just a badly named environment switch that prevents KDE from \
wrapping kdeinit around launching programs, nothing else. You don't need to do any \
actual prelinking to use it.

The history of the name is that it is assumed that kdeinit speeds up launching KDE \
applications so much that only prelinking (with objprelink, something KDE has long \
since lost support for) could compensate for that. It's very much untrue these days, \
but it's still a useful switch to get rid of kdeinit being wrapped around everything.
