Summary: Wish: Color uncovered space around background Images
           Product: kdesktop
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: SuSE RPMs
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: faure@kde.org
        ReportedBy: miavir@furry.de

Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1.4)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

For those modes of backgrounds where the picture doesn't cover the entire background \
('centered', 'centered maxspect', 'centered autofit') it would be nice if the color \
of the background not covered could be set by the image. For instance, if you have \
'centered'. Take the color of the four corners. If they're all the same, set the \
color of the uncovered background around the picture to that color. if they differ, \
do a gradient shade from each corner outward. This way, the background image would \
blend into the rest of the background much better.

Shading the background this way could be an option to the abovementioned background \
modes, this should be possible to do in desktop backgrounds, login window \
backgrounds, and also the Media and Slide Show Screensavers (although the last two \
can follow later :-)
