thank you!  I symlinked over some of the Koffice-related .desktop-files (kword,
kspread, kpresenter and kontour so far) and it works.  well, kword decided to
segfault for some reason after closing koshell, but I'll debug that later. 
again, thank you!

I'm guessing I'll have one very happy user after rdist has done its job.  :-)
