We were just discussing this on the gentoo ML.  It does seem to be a kstart bug.

kstart "gkrellm2 -g +1070+476"
works, but as soon as you add any option to kstart, it ignores the -g.

kstart --skiptaskbar "gkrellm2 -g +1070+476"
ignores the -g.

I don't quite see how this can't be a kstart bug.

Status should be confirmed and reproducable.
